Center for Emerging Networks and Technologies Research (CENTeR)
Center for Emerging Networks and Technologies Research (CENTeR) has been established in June 2019 aimed to foster research and development in the area of emerging network technologies in Bangladesh as well as to utilize the benefits of information technology for the society. The center will focus on theoretical aspects and applications of the areas of state-of-the-art networking and communication technologies to solve real-life problems towards smart living. One of the objectives of the center is to establish collaborations between academia and industry as well as provide training to make skilled professionals capable of utilizing the emerging network technologies by offering professional courses from organizations like Cisco Networking Academy, Mikrotik Academy, Linux Professional Institute, Python Institute etc.
The vision of the center is to use frontier network technologies to solve real-life problems to make a positive impact in the society and improve quality of life of the people’s everyday life.
Some recent ongoing projects of the center are as follows:
- IoT-based precision agriculture for automating Boro rice cultivation in Bangladesh with collaboration from Irrigation and Water Management (IWM) division of Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI)
- IoT-based Farming System
- Natural gas wastage detection and Safety for Household Usage
